Low Water Crossing #52 Culvert Repair – Fort Polk

This Design-Build project involved the demolition of an existing single corrugated metal arch culvert and its replacement with a new double-row 12’x12’ reinforced concrete box culvert. The comprehensive scope of work included clearing and grubbing the site, demolition of the old structure, and meticulous excavation and dewatering. Construction phases featured pouring a concrete mud slab, preparing a limestone subbase, and installing reinforced concrete box culvert sections. The project also involved the use of flowable-fill backfill, and constructing structural concrete headwalls and wingwalls. Completion tasks included the placement and compaction of select import fill material, constructing a limestone roadway, grading slopes, placing riprap, and establishing new turf, ensuring structural integrity and environmental compliance.
